Background

>1974
Louis-Marie Piron (18 years old) begins renovating an old house : he decided to “do up” his grand-parents’ house. He is helped by Charles Thomas, a builder.

>1976
Louis-Marie Piron and Charles Thomas go into business together. They create a private limited liability company on 10 February. The construction business starts to take shape, with the purchase of an old Ford truck, a cement mixer and some scaffolding.

>1981
Bernard Piron, brother of Louis-Marie Piron graduates as civil engineer and joins the team to handle quotes, monitor purchases and oversee the building sites. This is the beginning of management control for a company which at the time has a turnover of more than 70 million francs.

>1985
The company becomes computerised. The first site foreman is appointed. The company achieves a turnover of nearly 250 million francs.

>1988
The inauguration of the first show house in Erpent. The private limited liability company becomes a public limited company. A provisions department is set up and the first estate agent is appointed.

>1992
The company further develops in terms of logistics and creates Supplies and Logistics department. This department would incorporate the agency, the garage, bodywork, joinery, scrap metal as well transportation, handling systems and civil engineering. Turnover surpasses a billion francs.

>1990
Creation of  TP Luxembourg.

>1995
Thomas & Piron celebrates its 20th anniversary by welcoming around 6000 visitors to the site in Our.

>1996
The company receives a visit from Prince Philippe. The company TP RENOVATION is created. The company receives the Godefroid merit award.

>1997
The company is certified ISO 9001. For the third consecutive time, the company appears in Europe’s honorary listing.

>1999
The company at the time has more than 750 employees and inaugurates the new Exhibition Room in Our. The company TP INTERNATIONAL is created.

>2000
Turnover has doubled in 5 years. Construction of more than 350 houses and 250 apartments. The first building sites outside of Europe are started in Casablanca in Morocco.

>2001
Thomas & PIRON is nominated for the fifth consecutive year as one of the 5 finalists for company of the year.

>2002
Louis-Marie Piron is nominated as one of the 10 managers of the year, and more than 400 houses are built this year. Turnover surpasses €87 million.M

>2003
More than 500 houses are built. An exceptional year in which a turnover of €118 million is achieved.

>2005
Thomas & Piron received the special jury prize “The best performing company since the creation of the Company of the year award”.

>2006
Thomas & Piron celebrates its 30th anniversary and inaugurated its new buildings in Our. Thomas & Piron is nominated as one of 6 finalists in the company of the year awards.

>2007
New head offices in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Inauguration of the skills centre; a unique initiative in Belgium which is honoured by the visit of Prince Philippe and numerous personalities. A turnover of more than 180 million Euros and more than 1500 employees.

Thomas & Piron was the first construction company in Wallonia to build a passive office building.

Thomas & Piron reaches the historic landmark of 1000 lodgings (houses and flats).

Thomas & Piron celebrates its 35th anniversary.
